I have to say the gov't shutdown. We did have enough money for other people and had to give another act to help us for awhile. Why i feel that important because we need help on it.

1. Assassination of Osama. It finally brought a man who orchestrated the deaths of thousands in 2001 with the attack on the world trade center.

1. The Boston Marathon Bombing, when two bombs killed 3 people at the Boston Marathon and injured an estimated 264 others. I think it's important because it shows how violent some people can get and why we should never let down our guards.

2. The Government Shutdown, when Congress failed to enact legislation appropriating funds or a continuing resolution for the interim authorization of appropriations for 2014. I find this event important because it shows that sometimes, the government can't agree on certain things.

3. The Moore Tornado, when a tornado struck the town of Moore, Oklahoma, causing 24 people to die and 377 to be injured. I find it important because it shows that nature is not always peaceful.

4. On the first day of the year, Illinois banned the use of shark fins. I find this important because it shows that Illinois is willing to protect wildlife from any sort of harm from humans.

Tristen, not to be rude but how does the Diamonbacks tying their season, apply to being important to shaping the way America is now?

1. North Korea having mass amounts of weapons. North Korea claimed they had nuclear weapons and the world was prepared to go to war. It is important because it made people realize communism still exists.
2.Government shutdown. The American government shut down. It showed that America is a very unstable country.
3.Kendrick lamar control verse.Kendrick lamar laid down the hardest and most creative rap in hip hop history. It made hip hop relevant again.
4.Boston marathon bombing. A bomb was set off in the Boston Marathon. It made America realize that terrorism still exists and heightened security.

Anonymous said...

Jonathan has all the right facts

Anonymous said...

I feel like the fact that the Diamondbacks need to practice more is a bit more of a societal importance than it is a nationally important event

Anonymous said...

1.) The Boston Bombing I think was the number one event of 2013. I think it was important to the U.S. because of the terror it brought and we wanted justice.

2.) The government shutdown was a big deal because it brought a ton of panic to the U.S.

3.)The new pope was a big deal because it brought peace and relief to Catholics.

4.)The royal baby was a huge deal because he is now an heir to the royal throne in England

1. Smart watches. A watch that is connected to your smart phone. You're able to record people on it, call people, send snapchats, etc. This is revolutionary because now we have a cell phone that we can wear on our body besides a blue tooth.
2. Google glass. Google glasses are basically a wearable computer. You're also able to record people with the glasses by using the touch pad on the side of the glasses.
3. Amazon announcing drone delivery. Amazon has announced that if you live within a 10 mile radius of an amazon shipping center, a flying drone will deliver your package if it is five pounds or less.
4. Legalization of recreational marijuana use in Washington and Colorado. Yeah.

The government shutdown:
The government shut down because of the democrats and the republicans were arguing over a bill. It was important because it brought panic over the whole country.

It was one of the best fights of the year. Thousands of people watched it on TV

Boston Marathon:
At the boston Marathon 3 people got killed and over 200 injured. It shocked the whole country.

I was still in France in 2013 but my top four of the events would be:

1- Boston bombing. During a marathon in Boston, 2 bombs exploded and killed 3 people and injured hundreds. It is important because even in Europe, everyone was talking about it and it shows that countries are united against terrorism.

2- U.S government shutdown. It shut down for a few days because democrats and republicans were fighting. It was important because the whole country paniced.

3- VMAs. In august of 2013, the video music awards became really famous and everyone talked about it mainly because of Miley Cyrus "twerking". It was one the first event that happen when I came to the US and it shocked the whole country !

4- Pope Francis. The new pope elected in 2013 was a big event in 2013. This new pope is closer to the people than any other before.

1.) The Government Shutdown. This shutdown seemed to be the first one that the younger generation was aware of. There have been numerous shutdowns in the past, but this one was the first one many teens were aware of.

2.) Obama's Threat to attack Syria.
Obama told the Syrian government that if their government uses chemical warfare in their cidezens, America will declare war on Syria. Obama dosen't have the power to declare war, making himself look foolish. America didn't go to war against Syria, making the U.S look like a second-class nation.

3.) Legalization of Marajuana.
The legalization of pot has become the greatest revolution since the fight for gay marriage. Only Colorado has legalized marajuana in 2013, but Washington State has quickly followed the trend in 2014.

1.Boston Marathon,2 people set a bomb of at a Boston Marathon,Because innocent people died and America couldn't stop it.
2.Legalization of marijuana, Colorodo and washington legalize it for recreational use, because its a big step for America and a new begging.
3. Goverment Shutdown,The U.S goverment shut down due to money problems, its important because people lost their jobs and stocks went down.
4. Women escape Cleveland house, 2 women escape house after being sexualy abused for a decade, because people dont pay atention to much to houses or neighbors, so we need to keep a lookout more often.

1.While 2013 was less extreme in the United States compared to 2011 and 2012, scientists increasingly warn that a warming planet will bring about more extreme weather events. The Fifth Assessment Report of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate. 2.the TRG-AMR lineup in late 2013 through extensive testing and looks forward to the first of his four Tequila Patron North America Endurance Cup races in 2014 with the team.007GrpShot. 3.printing guns essiue

1.) The boston marathon bombing happened on and many people were badly injured. I felt bad for the people who were hurt and felt the bombers needed to be found.
2.) The government shut down due to some complications. I think it was a ridiculous move for the gov.
3.) Birth of Prince George(the royal baby). Everyone seemed to be watching when the royal baby was born. Americans are a huge fan of the famous royal couple Kate and William, when their baby was born America gauked at the adorable baby boy. I felt very happy for the couple but it didn't really affect me personally.
4.) The VMAs was a shock to America especially when they aired the performance by Miley Cyrus. I feel many people did not expect that and shortly after it made her world widely know
