I have decided to talk about the use of electronic surveillance in the court case of U.S. v. Jones. The FBI attacked a small tracking device to Jones motor vehicle without a warrant. This led to the discover of 850,000 in money and 100 kilograms of illegal narcotics. Jones is pleading that the "big brother" surveillance is encroaching on his fourth amendment rights. I think he is right about the encroachment, but this still shouldn't clear him from the charges of finding the narcotics.
my topic is about imagration enforcment. between the us and arizona. arizona passed the sb1070 law. arizona was the busiest illegal imagrant passing of the us. i dont think that were the only state that has alot of illegal imagrants. like texas could have alot too. that is my opinion of that case.
In the case of Gay Marriage I feel the outcome should be in favor of the gays because quite frankly they have had their big coming for a long time, I mean Americans got their country, women got equal rights (sorta pay grades still a little diffrent) and slaves got their freedom. I think gays are next on the list for more freedoms don't you think.
PRISON STRIP SEARCHES: I read it the poor guy was strip searches for getting strip searches for unpaid parking fines. that was sad for the guy you cane not do that. he did not have nothing on him and so they strip searches him that is not cool. It is like me going up to you and arrested and then strip searche you not cool bro.
Gay Marriage - I think people should be able to get married to who ever they want and get the same benefits. We're supposed to be a "free" country yet we still discriminate against people when they have done absolutely nothing wrong to deserve it.
I read case Television Indecency : FCC v. Fox Television Stations; which is debating whether the t.v. programing stations have violated their freedom of speech by allowing profanity and nudity on television. I think that t.v. stations have a right to show whatever programs they want, but I think they need to monitor what is shown. These stations need to realize that somethings are just to much for common stations. They need to remember that it's just television, we don't have to show everything.
My topic is Gay Marriage, Gay Marriages should be passed in all states because they aren't causing any damage to our lives an damaging our way of life. They should have the same rights as a regular married couple has. Gay Marriages are just people showing how they feel about each other as a regular couple just same sex. Its not effecting our learning an economy. They should be allowed to be treated the same as everyone else in America. The first Amendment states that we have freedom of speech an be free to be who you want to be. An we are taking away their right to do so. So Gay Marriages should be passed across the States.

i feel everyone got there freedom, slaves, women, our countries, etc. but gays were always treated differently, they should have a right to marriage. The gay population is growing a lot and people are fighting for there rights.
i decided to pick the one about electronic surveillance in the court case U.S. v Jones. . i think that he is protected by the constitution for being searched with out a search warant, but he had his vehicle in a public area so they law has right to check if there is proper suspicion and facts leading up to it

ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE: US vs Jones
This court case was mostly about whether or not the cops tagging a drug suspect with a GPS was in some way violating his fourth amendment right in the Bill of Rights that protects people from searches and seizures without just cause. A law officer must have a warrant to search someone.
In this case Jones is suspected of dealing with drugs and because of this the authorities decided to install a tracking device (a GPS) onto his car in an effort to see what his whereabouts are.
With this technology the officers were able to track his every move at anytime of the day that they wanted to check up on him. Eventually he was tracked down in Maryland where one hundred kilograms of illegal narcotics were uncovered along with 850,000$ in cash. Jones was then sentenced to life in prison.
In my opinion I think that this case and it's outcome was completely fair. Jones would not be tracked in the first place if he did not give the authorities a good reason too, it was not a random surveillance of a random citizen but a man who was actually dealing with illegal drugs and caught in the act of it. I think that Jones is trying to use his fourth amendment right as a scape goat for his crimes that he is fully responsible for.
On gay marriage I think they should get their rights. I mean they aren't causing any harm by loving each other. The women, then the slaves, and then the african americans all got their rights and now the gays deserve their rights. I don't see any problem with people being gay, I don't mind it and I don't know why it's such a huge problem to some people.
Gay Marriage ban
I believe that this law goes against the civil rights of all homo and bi-sexual people. The right to pursue happiness. The first line of the Declaration of Independence states that all people have the right to pursue happiness. Therefor, it is a constitutional right that a same sex couple may get married.
Prison Strip searches:
I decided to write about the prison strip searches because a man in 2005 was arrested due to parking fines and was demanded to give multiple cavity searches. This was a humiliating and embarrassing situation for him, I'm sure. Especially since he had nothing to hide besides a few parking tickets! I think regardless of their precautions, required searches should only be put upon those of suspect. In any other case it is unnecessary and unruly for them to do that to someone without a search related charge.
IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT: Arizona v. U.S.
I figure that there is no real reason that the Federal Government should be involved in a State's immigration issues. If Arizona, or any state for that matter, so choses to make laws that keep it more safe, and there are no laws governing or restricting these laws, the state should be able to make and enforce those laws for the good of the people of said state.
I believe immigration issues should not only be in the hands of the federal government but the individual states should have the authority to take matters into its own possibly more effective hands if the federal government fails to properly provide the security and defense necessary as it pertains to the "IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT: Arizona v. U.S." case. Illegal immigration has become a point of major concern within the nation due to it not only being a general nuisance because of diminished general convenience but it has taken on a parasitic effect both in aspects of economy but U.S patriotism which has been replaced with nationalism of a separate nation.
My topic is the FCC V. FOX Television Station
I think that the FCC should've lost this case because they are trying to restrict what Fox is puting on thier channel. Parents might argue that they dont want thier children watching these kind of shows, but its the parents fault if they dont monitor what thier watching on telivision and thier is also the opton to block the channels.
John R comment was excellent, deleted accidently.
The topic i have chosen to talk about is gay marriage. I think it is unconstitutional for same-sex marriage to be illegal. The first amendment says freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and that government shall not favor one religion over another. If gay marriage is illegal because of other people's religious beliefs, that is definitly favoring certain religions. Homosexual couples should also be able to also practice their beliefs. I think the supreme court should rule in favor of allowing homosexual marriage to be legal because of the first amendment rights that are stated in the US constitution. If the constitution is based on equality and fairness, i think it is fair to make all people equal regardless of their sexual and marital preferences.

I think the case about Immigration is completely idiotic, because a lot of people don't know that immigration is pretty good for the economy. Also, we made a place called "New Mexico" right on top of Mexico, and who thought of that any way? On another note, didn't they live here before this, so technically we stole this country (Among other things) from them. In recent studies, we had six hispanic men built a similar wall that is used at the border in two days, and they went through it, over it, and under it in only fifteen minutes.
Television Indecency
They put to much profanity on tv. They need high standards. Public TV has to be regulated.
I decided to comment on gay marriage. I honestly don't understand what the big deal is. Why does is matter if same-sex couples get married? They're all American citizens too and the deserve the same rights as the rest of us. I would like to see gay marriage legalized in all 50 states because I think America has wasted enough time arguing about something that does't matter.
My topic is about the Gay marriage rights! i feel that they gay's should be able to get married with each other, just like man and women are allowed. who are we to decide what's right or wrong for someone else? They don't judge us for liking who we like, so why is it ok for us to judge them? We claim that were all equal, but this proves the exact opposite of that! If it's not effecting us, then we shouldn't care, and we should just let them be happy loving who they want to love.
I believe that Albert Florence should win the case. A strips search was unneeded due to the crime committed. I agree some strip searches should be given but under the right circumstances. People that have committed very minor crimes should have no reason to be searched, as where a criminal with murder and strong violence charges should be searched due to such outstanding crimes. Also, if already searched once, what was the point in the second search. He got transferred from one correctional facility to the next. So, if the search was completed once they should not have to be searched again.
I chose to right about the health care law. I think that it would be wrong if the health care law was passed. I believe this because some people may not want to pay for something they don't need or want and get punished for it. This would be unconstitutional if this law were to go through. Also some people may not even be able to afford health care.
I found the U.S. v. Jones case interesting. The FBI attached a tracking device on to Jones without a warrant. It led to him being guilty of 850,000 dollars and illegal narcotics. I think this was unconstitutional and i think Jones will win. If the FBI would have had a warrant then i think it would have been fine but since there is so no warrant that is against his constitutional rights.
I think that illegal immigration should well be illegal. I don't think there's anything in the constitution that goes against illegal immigration. In any other big country they take illegal immigration way more serious.
I read about Gay Marriage. I think that the outcome is pretty good but I also feel that every state should make it legal for gays to be married. Everyone should have the chance to be married to the person they are in love with. Just because they are in love with the same sex doesn't mean they are any different then a straight couple is. I might not necessarily want to see them "loving" each other in front of me but if they are going to be happy with someone of the same sex they should get to have that. Look at it this way, what if the role was switched? What if it was weird and not okay for straight people to get married. How would you feel then? Would you think it was right for you to not get married to the person you were in love with? I know I would not be okay with it, so everyone that judges gay should just stop and think about how happy they are together. Get over it.
I have decided to talk about the Gay Marriage. I am not gay but I think people should be able to get married to who ever they want and get the same votes or benefits. The USA is a "free" country so everybody should be allowed to do this what he|she stands for.
The case i chose was the Deathrow Mistake case. This man was accused of mudering to companions and was sentenced for lethal injection. His lawyers left the firm that they were orginally in when the case started. The paperwork got all mixed up and a great confusion came about. Now a state judge is saying that the prisoner cannot appeal his case. Is it his fault that his lawyers were irresponsible? No, i believe that he should not be sent for a lethal injection without having a second chance in court. If the outcome is the same AFTER the second hearing, then it was considered a fair trial. But as of right now i believe he should definitley have a second chance in court. Not saying that he should be set free, but a second chance seems fair. It is literallly a difference between life and death.
I read about the Immigration Enforcement between Arizona and the United States. Here in Arizona passed SB 1070 and cause a big ordeal. The United States is saying that they don't want to classify. The only problem is Arizona has illegal citizens even if it is classifying we need to make all citizens here legal.
I am interested in the US vs Jones of electronic surveillance. I do find this unconstitutional because for anything personal you own should not be subject to be searched or surveilled by officers/agencies without a warrant stating what they will be doing with your belongings. This case frustrates me because they had no right to do that. Sure they found narcotics and drug money, but to me that evidence cannot be used against the person in court because it was found by unconstitutional means.
In the case of U.S. vs Jones, that should be ruled as unconstitutional due to the fact that the FBI did install a gps device in his vehicle without a warrant or his permission. I dont like the idea of letting a drug dealer off, but his right were violated and should be let off.
Gay Rights:
We are a free country yet we discriminate against gay marriage. They should have the same rights as a regular married couple has. We have given African Americans, Women, and slaves their rights but have forgotten about the gays? Gay Marriage should be legalized all throughout the United States.
I chose the case about Gay marriage. I don't see why it's any of our business as to who loves who. As long as they're happy I don't see why it matters to anyone enough to get mad over it. It really shouldn't even be in case like this. I already can tell most people are for gay marriage and I know it's going to win.
I decided to choose the Gay Marriage court case. I believe people should be able to marry whomever they choose no matter what sex the people may be. It is obviously not unconstitutional because it is legal in six states and the district of columbia. We say that we are free Americans but we still have many restrictions and many of them are not needed including the restriction of no same sex marriages. Our generation is changing and we should be able to over come laws acts like the Defense of Marriage Act.
Im talking about gay marriage, i personally dont care what people do. Love is a strong emotion, if you are in love, it shouldn't matter age or sex or race or religion. i think it should be legalized for peoples happiness. it shouldn't have been made illegal in the first place, thats stupid.
Gay Marriage <3
I think that the ignorance of people is unbelievable.
Women wanted the same rights as men, and got most of them. Slaves were un~slaved and then with the civil rights movement, were able to become equal to the white anglo saxon man!
Even though there are still some people who hate against those groups, the majority is much greater of acceptance. And the fact that this large community of people cannot live in happiness with the person they love, or the fact that they cannot have equal rights regarding blood care is astonishing. I would not expect this type of behavior from a nation that is supposed to be united and not divided.
When people dont think it is "not natural" for the LGBTQ community to be happy and love or care for the same sex is just straight up ignorance. Our country is changing, and so those people that have a problem with this amazing community can either accept or leave!
Instead of having these people hide in shame of what society want us to conform to, they aren't themselves, and they date and get married to the opposite sex even though they are not happy, just because we say it "isnt right"! Who are we to say this?!
Don't Hate!
Josie B! :D
I feel that the Electronic Surveillance case should partially go in favor of Jones in that his fourth amendment was taken away from him. The government should have gotten a warrant. However, he still was in possession of trafficking cocaine. Therefore, I believe he should still suffer the consequences.
gay marriage
why can't they get married, if they want to they should be able to. why would it matter? let they do what they want.
In the case of Use of electronic surveillance in the court case of U.S. v. Jones, the FBI planted a small tracking device on a the vehicle without a warrant. The police had suspicion and found 8500,000 dollars and drugs. Jones says that the fourth amendment should protect him but I think that he should serve his time in jail. He has a point when it comes to the fourth amendment but he did something illegal so I'm on the courts side.
I chose to talk about the court case of U.S. v. Jones. The FBI used an electronic tracking device on Jones car which led the FBI to him and they found illegal narcotics. He was found not guilty due to the fact that the FBI violated his fourth amendment rights. In my opinion he has the right to the fourth amendment like everyone else, but he should be prosecuted for the possession of illegal narcotics.
I chose to talk about Gay marriage. I don't understand why the government is getting involved its not a government issue. Marriage is a religious sacrament. I understand no religion excepts it, so then they should make there own religion. Then it would fall under their freedom of religion. Government shouldnt really be involved. I dont think it should be a law. if they make their own religion props to them. They would be able the have the same rights as normal marriages. I dont support it but if they can make their own religious beliefs then they can do as they please.
Will the topic I pick is the Gay Rights. I don't why the same sex can't get marry I think that unfair for them like why not,Im in favor with the gays.
In the case of electronic surveillance I feel that the government was justified in placing a tracking device on Jones' car because they had probable cause.
I think gay marriage should be allowed because it doesnt hurt anyone and it isnt against any religion. plus people can't help who they fall in love with and want to row old with. to some people it might seem wrong but it does not say any where in scripts for any religion that its unholy.
For the Prison Strip Search case, I think that it is unconstitutional to allow authorities to search people against their will without having a legitimate reason, as the constitution clearly states that they must have a valid cause for the search.
U.S V. Jones i think that its terrible because they did have a warrant and it is bad because he violated the one of his amendments and that is against the Constitution because its one of the amendments.
Gay Marriage
I don't understand why it is illegal in most states seeing as the only reason it is illegal is religion based yet in the constitution it says we have the freedom to religion. If that is true than the laws preventing it are unconstitutional and need to be revoked. Love is love no matter what gender.
My topic to blog about the immigration enforcement. I believe that states should not have the authority to enforce immigration matters that is the federal governments job. A police can not stop a person just because he suspects him of being illegal.Thats racial profiling. I know that Arizona is one the most drug trafficking states from Mexico but that doest mean Arizona has the right to take it out on the hard working families that have started their new lives here. Immigrants come to america the have a better life and get away from the violence in Mexico not cause it here.
ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE: I think that its okay to video tape this guy if you have reasonable suspicion of him trafficking cocaine. the video surveillance is a great way to catch this guy and get the cocaine off the streets
i Think that the SB 1070 law should not be passed at all . just because someone looks mexican doesnt mean yu have to pull them over. its racial profiling. and i just dont think its right . alot of the Arizona citizens got upset and went to go march at the capiltal . its just not right
i think the gay marriage thing is a perfect example of how dumb americans actually are. if two people really love each other and want to get married, why would someone deny them of what the want. and also with insurance, if they are married they should be able to be on the same insurance, they shouldnt have to get different ones. i think people are just closed minded and think they can control what people can and cant do when they want to marry someone of same sex. anyone who thinks its wrong is wrong themselves, who are you to tell someone who they cant love
I pick Gay Marriages, Gay Marriage should be passed in all states because they aren't doing anything thats harming someone else. They should have the same rights as a regular married couple has. They should be allowed and be treated the same as everyone else in America. The first Amendment states that we have freedom of speech an be free to be who we want to be. It should not matter what sex you are as long as you love them ad your happy everything else should not matter.
SB:1070 since that law has come up arizona has gotten a bad reputation rappers are boycotting it the economy is also getting worse now that cheap labor is no longer available there are less events going on here in arizona because no one is interested in investing money in a state that has no more cheap labor available plus it has a bad name now because of it's fight against illegal immigrants why doesn't the state offer a legal way for the people to come that way they save money on having to pay border patrol agents and the economy gets much better yes i understand that Arizona is also concerned about it's public safety and the drug cartels smuggling in drugs but they have to start thinking of a better way to fix this problem.

I still think love is a make believe considering it only comes up in movies and fairy tales, but- in a world were good things happen- people fall in love with a person not their sex and I think it would be cruel to keep "the one" away from who they belong to, I guess, I mean Im not a pro or any thing, but its true, if someone meets their other half then, you know, every thing works out. But oh no people have to make it a law and stuff, then agin its grose to see anyone makeout at the male so......GAY P3OPLE, NO MATTER WHAT, ITS GROSE FOR ANYONE TO MAKEOUT AT ANY PUBLIC PLAC3.....so, ya.
I think the Gay Marriage case should go through in the favor of the homosexuals. The main reason I think this is because we as Americans have the right to the pursuit of happiness and if they want to get married and be happy with their partner then, they should be allowed to be married just like everyone else.
I the case of of gay marriage I think that it should also go in there favor not only because Women got their rights, slavesgot their freedom, and americans got their country, but you can't really prohibit someone loving someone else. Sure you can say you will not marry them but they will stil love each other. I think also that we gave something to everyone else that we should give something to the gays(meaning this).
On the topic of Gay Marriage, in the constitution it talks about the Pursuit of Happiness. If being gay makes a person happy, then isn't not allowing gay marriage unconstitutional? Gays should be allowed to be married. It doesn't have to do with you unless you're gay. People just need to get over themselves. Seriously.
I'm talking about the Gay Marriage case. I think that the government shouldn't have a say in who should get married with each other. Same sex marriage is just as important as opposite sex marriage. They are in love. You don't choose who you love. It's inevitable on who you are going to marry. Why can't people just leave gay people alone. They deserve happiness too. It's supposed to be a free country so let them be free and love each other <3
SB 1070 I think it is not against are right as a state to make this law. It is the countrys job but most people in arizona do not think it is doing a good. Most people have not even read the law and think any cop can pull them over for no reason and it clearly states they can only if they have a reason to! Its not like they are going to say oh they look illegal get them. Some may but someone and if your legal then just show them your id and then go on your way.
I chose the topic of electronic surveillance. Since the Supreme court can only make final decisions based on the Constitution, this case easily violates the fourth amendment which states the government may only search your property if they have a warrant AND that people have the right to privacy in their own home. To me, this case should be on the civilians' side. In U.S. vs. Jones, he was suspected of trafficking drugs and ended up sentenced to life. The government would not have found out he was doing this if they hadn't been on surveillance. I feel no matter the outcome, people should always have the right to their privacy and the government took that away from Jones.
Gay Marriage
Honestly, I could argue this right for this right forever. This right is one that i really care about and makes me very angry because it is none of anyones business about who loves who. The outcome of this case should be gay right legalized in all states. I do not understand why people are so interested in this case when it is actually very simple: Let people love who they want to love.
Gay Rights:
I believe that they should pass the Gays rights to marriage law. It states in the constitution that every man is created equal, if that was true then why can't two men that are created equal get married? Also the first amendment is freedom of religion, then who says gay marriage isn't a religion in its own. They should the same rights as everyone else. Its technically unconstitutional for them not to have those rights... Its a new generation things have changed and so should their right for marriage. They wouldn't go through those looks and hurtful words for no reason its in the name of their love they share for each other and if they love that powerfully then more power to them!!!
my topic is about the border the Mexican and American border should just be shut down it is crazy how many people come here illegally...... then people say oh well i have a family now u cant deport me where will my kids go ..... i don't care if i rob a bank and come up with a excuse ,should i get off to im done Mexicans use to be a minority now we are so lets go to war right here right now im done with all these alien Mexicans
I read the court case of regarding gay marriage. The case is about if states have the right to define marriage between one man and one woman, and whether partners get each other's benefits. I believe that the outcome should be that gay couples are allowed the right to get married, and that they should be allowed to share their benefits.
One of the arguments in the case states that by not allowing gay marriage, it is "...singling out gay men and lesbians." To me, not allowing gay marriage is a type of discrimination for it is denying gay couples of their rights. There is also nothing in the constitution that says that marriage is a right only between a man and a woman. By denying the right to marriage, it is denying the rights and the freedoms of the people to express themselves as well. I also think that they should get the same benefits because even though they are not a "traditional" couple, they are still in a committed relationship just like the people who already get the benefits.
I think in all effect 1070 should be considered unconstitutional and another route taken to meet the uncontrolled immigration issues befalling our weak-economic nation. If the federal government is unwilling to take part in immigration control in the south-west sector of the United States then they are shooting Arizona in the foot by repealing sp1070. If the government will set its own policy and protocol for immigration control which can be proven effective then invalidate sp1070, then Arizona would not sp1070 because the feds would be doing their job effectively for once. Otherwise sp1070 is not a discredit for Arizona, it is a shame on government for providing poor policy enforcement on how it controls illegal immigration.
The constitution states that people have the right to freedom of religion. Since this is true, bringing in religious views on marriage to try and prove that homosexuals should not be married is unconstitutional. Love is love, you don't choose who you fall in love with, you don't choose what sex you're attracted to; so why treat gays like they aren't equal? Isn't stated that "All men are created equal."
about the electronic surveillance i feel it is unconstitutional because people have the right to be safe and private in there homes and anywhere else in the U.S. and i feel like he should not get life in prison but maybe 20 years or so
Maples v. Thomas
I think the outcome to this case is that he will be able to refile his appeal. I think this because in the bill of rights amendments five but mainly eight it says that every person accused of a crime has the right to an attorney and since his bailed out on him he should be able to refile so that his new attorney can find out the facts.
Kyle Price
Here in Arizona we face immigration mostly from Mexico. The people who cross into our state get away with not paying taxes, and many are part of the drug cartel and have started terrible things here. I personally think the state should decide whether they want an immigration law/ how they handle it. It's not a racial thing it's who is or is not a citizen of the U.S.

Immagration: I think that everyone that wants to go into america should have the right becuase the constitution says all Man is crreated equal , no all americans.
The blog i have decided to discuss with you is the Television Indecency. I feel that the way that this case was brought about was taken a little too dramatic. Just because some of the things displayed on television or said was a little over the top and inappropriate, but there are certain ways to go about this types of situations. The way that they went about it wasn't very fair because they are attacking all types of TV shows when really its just a portion of the shows who display inappropriate things in them, not all. Cussing on Television is freedom of speech, yes it may be offending some people but it certainly is not harming them.
Emma McWilliams
i think that the congress cares that people cuss or use profanity, and long as its advised before the show and what not i don't see why it would be a big deal to where they have to discuss it in supreme court.
My topic is gay marriage. I don't understand why people try so hard to outlaw this. Gay people shouldn't have their right to get married taken away according to someone Else's beliefs. It is unfair to say they can't get married because of someone Else's religious views. They don't try to control our lives, so we shouldn't try to control theirs.
I thought the case FCC vs. Fox Television stations was interesting. TV stations should monitor what they show (because tv is way too sexual now) and what is allowed to be said on live broadcasts like award shows. But telling people what they can and cant say isnt constitutional, according to the 1st amendment, so instead of dictating peoples free speech tv stations need to make sure that there "BLEEPS" are on point.
Gay marriages should be allowed because they should feel free to marry someone that they love. There should not be any laws that stops peoples love. And some people are different than others.
i decided to go with gay marriage. I honestly don't unerstand what the big problem is with allowing them to get married. the whole reason people frown upon it is because "god doesn't approve of same sex marriage, and he doesn't like it" but doesn't the bible also say "god loves all his children no matter what, he doesn't judge us." and even if he did, he's a hypocrite because supposdly he's the one who created us. so going the religion way, is stupid and it doesn't make sense!
another thing i think about it this, if it's not affectig us as indivisuals then why is it such a big deal? we're all supposed to be treated equal, cause that's what the constitution says, but by not letting gay's marry, that's showing them that there not as equal as the rest of us. it's not fair to them. think of it this way, put yourself in their shoes, and then tell me if you'd want this passed or not.
I read about the "IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT: Arizona v. U.S." I personally think illegal immigration should be illegal! i believe that the outcome should be the same as it was to not let illegal immigrants into our state or country unless the get official us documents, because there transferring drugs, violence, and other things that could tear up Arizona, the 1070 was a good idea in my Opinion. (allowed officials to check if they where legal or not)where just finding problems if we allow illegal aliens into our state. i know there just looking for work or trying to make and live better. but its just really not that right? if you get my drift.
