the us drone went done in iran and the satalite quickly pinpointed the downed drone. i think that this was an accident and the flyer lost control of the drone. a women was accused of raping her four sons . i think that is totally messed up that a mother would do that to her children.

"Occupiers from all over the United States marked the 3rd day with an event called 'Make Wall Street Pay', which they blocked some big streets in DC".
For me this event is great, shows how the population reacts against the govern showing that they have their own voice.

"Job markets are improving in both Arizona and the United States. Yet progress is painfully slow, especially for tens of thousands of out-of-work Arizonans."
This is a great notice for all people who lives in Arizona, the problem now to the government is to know when is time to cut some benefits, to not decrease the state income.

A lady was pepper spraying people at a Walmart on black friday. Ten people had to be treated for exposure to it. She is not being charged for anything. I think thats ridiculous how crazy people have gotten on black friday and it needs to be retained.

US: A 20 year old man has been arrested for murdering a 7 year old girl. Her mouth was duct taped. Her body was mangled in a trash compactor. She was last seen near her apartment complex.

I think it's dangerous to have your body in a trash compactor. Okay well most people have their mouth duct taped shut.

AZ: A Mesa teen boy with no health issues has been missing. According to police, he has been missing since August 21. The boy ran away twice. He was found in an apartment complex before he ran away again. He took his belongings with him.

I'm sure his parents were worried sick about him. I don't think it's a good idea for people to be missing for months.

U.S current event- Virgina Tech has had another shooting in which 2 people were killed. Both of these people were killed with the same gun. which according to investigators is one belonging to a police officer. The incident began at around 12:15 when campus Police Officer Deriek W. Crouse pulled someone over during a traffic stop.
This doesnt surprise me all that much people are murdered everyday. The only part that surprises me at is that the suspect had a freaking Police Officers gun how in hell did he pull that off?

AZ current event- Well this is a strange one apperently more and more teachers here in phoenix are using games to improve their math skills. By playing games like dominos dice and even whack a mole even video games are being used to increase math exposure. This was started in order to better prepare students for the new aims math standerds and help them score better. Also mentioned is how by the 2014-15 school year students will not only have to be able to do calculations but also explain their awnsers. One principal is quoted as saying knowing higher level math is nolonger optional.
This makes glad I never had to take the AIMS test in any form since the california equivulent was counted here in Arizona.
Also makes me wonder why their just now figuring out that alot of students need extra resources like this to better suceed.

The House Republicans are in conflict with the White House and the Senate over the question to prolong the payroll tax cuts. The proposal was declined by the Senate. The Republicans are still trying to come up with another bill but Obama said he will decline any efforts to extend the the tax cut. I'm not really sure what my opinion on this matter is.

An article from az central states that Arizona's unemployment rate is gradually going down. However, come the new year, their unemployment benefits may be coming to an end. The government believes the economy is beginning to heal. In my opinion, its going to be hard for these unemployed people to find jobs. But on the brighter side, it helps motivate them to find jobs.

I was looking at the Occupy Wallstreet and its been going on for 2 months. I think the protest is stupid. Even if they do win in the end there not gonna get what they want. They dont understand. There waisting there time out there protesting. protesting against wallstreet isnt gonna solve anything.

U.S. officials have confirmed the video of the U.S. drone that was "shot down" to be authentic. This means that Iran will soon be able to sell or replicate this technology. In response to this president Obama has received three separate plans for destruction or retrieval of this drone. He has rejected all plans stating that they could start a war. In my opinion we should act despite the possibility of war, we should not and can not allow them to reproduce or sell this technology. We should first ask to get it back, politely, and if they refuse then we should go and get it back.

I was reading about the deadline for the jobless is comeing close to an end and we have bairly made any progress. I think we need to make a step on it. Many people need there jobs back and not get laided off. They have faimlys to take care of. Our unenipoliment rate is riseing every day. We need to do somthing about this. Everyone needs jobs.

"House Republicans to offer payroll tax plan. Senate Democratic leader rejected planned House proposal. Separate Democratic and Republican proposals were blocked in the Senate. Raising taxes remains an unresolved issue dividing Democrats and Republicans. House GOP proposal links payroll tax cut to an oil pipeline project, defying Obama."
First of all, politicians are silly and I do not enjoy listening to them fight since that seems to be all that they do. I understand that people have different opinions about things, but oh my goodness. Calm down.
I have to say that I agree with the Republicans in which they believe that we should have less government and lower taxes.

"Arizona jobless aid at risk as deadline nears"
I feel that the jobless aid should have a shorter deadline. No one is going to go look for a job when hey are being payed for months and months to sit around and do nothing. There are some exceptions to those who need to provide for a new family, but that is not everyone's excuse. People get lazy and when they finally have an interview, the interviewer sees that they have been out of a job for however long time. No one wants to hire a lazy person.
If the deadline was shorter than people would be more determined to find a job. It isn't that hard.

The "Occupy Boston" protest seemed to go fine, but many of them are saying that their First Amendment rights have been violated because police have arrested many because they refused to leave. L.A., Philadelphia, St. Louis, and many other large financial cities in the US are being arrested for the same reason.

Apparently, if Congress doesn't act quickly, anyone who is recieving federal unemployment benefits for more than 6 months will lose their benefits. For some who try to use it as an excuse not to work, it might be a good thing for them. But if it is for people who need it, like my mother for example, then this is not going to be fun. Though we are creating 16000 jobs this year, it isnt enough to give one to all of the more than 50000 people who are unemployed in Arizona. For a lot of people, this is literally the difference between having a home and living on the streets. I do really hope that Congress stops screwing around and actually gets this done.

I was reading about the pepper spray incident, and apparently some older woman was spraying every one to get an Xbox game for her grandchildren. Personally I find it hilarious, "Parden me young wipper-stapper, but I need to get that game for my grand kids. (TSSSssss)"

Arizona government: The ordinance, approved by the city Council 5-4 on wednesday, adding freeway sites for billboards and reducing the sites along surface streets. Protecting Neighborhood and the city as concentrated billboard zones.
Us government: The effect of the payroll tax cut of social security trust funds.
I agree with the changes in the billboards law because billboard are a visual pollution and sometimes bother the citizens. Everybody is discussing about the payroll tax cut effect but it should have no effect in the social security funds.

prison inmates in Arizona crying for health care. they should get health care because they are humans to. They are letting the prisoner they tell no health care. Then they start to get sick and other thing happend to them and sometimes they die. i think this is wrong and they should just treat them write.

Alec Baldwin engages in Twitter war with state GOP leader Dean Skelos. They are fight for now reason. They should just get along stop fighting. They are just wrong we should fire them. They ant doing nothing to help us out. that all i have to say.

Cain leaves media door open: Presidential candidate cain will basically do anything to keep his voice heard in what he wants to change and what he can do when elected. The way i think about it is that if you want to stand up for something or make a change u should do whatever it takes to make it happen and in a way i support the decisions he's making.

AZ: Sheriff Joe Arpaio is said to be ignoring over 400 rape cases in maricopa county and then says he will be running for a sixth term at 80 years old. he thinks he will win.. I personally think and hope he doesnt. he's screwing up by letting these rapists get away with what they did.

USA: State politics are causing people to lose their jobs because they cant agree on the budget for state funding in time. this is messed up. it's not the peoples fault.

i chose the article about the man being released early because the jail was so overcrowded. he was convicted of murder and dumping the 20 year olds body. he admitted the truth that thats what he had done and had only served two years until he was released. The parents were very angry and arguable about the fact of him being let out. i think they just need to send him to another jail because you cant let a killer loose just because a jail is full... although he said he regrets what he's done and has already served two years, they need to make sure he is sane and not gonna kill anymore before they release him.

"House Republicans to Offer Payroll Tax Plan" was one article I read. The House Republicans proposed a plan to extend the payroll tax cut on unemployment benefits and easing the path for approval for the Keystone oil. The Senate Democratic leader rejected the plan, and neither the Republican or Democratic party received the 60 votes they needed. This now means that a decision for the payroll tax has to be decided before the end of the war, or people will be looking at paying higher taxes come the 2012 election. The GOP also devised a plan to a payroll tax cut on oil, defying Obama. The rising of taxes remains an huge issue, dividing the two parties. I think that the idea to tax cut on unemployment wouldn't be the worst thing to cut back on. Yes people are loosing their jobs, but cuts have to be made somewhere and this I believe would be okay.

"MCSO Overtime Dispute Continue" is the second article i read. Pay cuts on officers working over time, government isn't paying them the money the deserve. I think that this is a major problem. If people are working overtime they have the right to earn their money.

I read an article saying that the federal government wants to jab healthy children with untested anthrax vaccine just to see if it works. The purpose of the experiment would be to prevent a possible bioterroristic attack. I think that before trying it on humans, they should do the right experiments on animals, and try it on humans only when the consequences are not totally unknown. However, I think that the hypothesis of a possible biologic attack is not a good reason to permit these kind of experiments.

In Arizona the unemployment is gradually going down. This is a great news for all the people who is having a hard time with finding a job. However, the crisis has not been completely defeated yet, so we don't have to get distracted and continue to fight it.

Arizona Current Event
On Thursday, December 8th, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office released a report that the cause of death for Phoenix police officer Sgt. Sean Drenth was suicide. Although Phoenix investigators continue to call the cause of death as "Death Unknown". Sgt. Drenth, who was 34 at the time, was found mortally injured outside of his patrol car with his shotgun on his chest pointing towards his chin. The reason there is still speculations on what really caused his death is the amount of evidence of a struggle occurring. Many experts are still perplexed by the case but most suggest it was suicide, including a forensic pathologist and a firearms expert. Phoenix police spokesman, Sgt. Trent Crump, says that he has decided to keep the case open and the cause as still "Death Unknown" saying there is too many unanswered questions to close this case.

Political Current Event
This might not be a political issue but I found it as the most interesting, if you haven't been living under a rock you are well aware of Congress's decision to declare pizza a vegetable. No, you didn't read that wrong. They are stating that by the amount of tomato paste in a slice of pizza counts as one serving of vegetables. Now here I am thinking a tomato was a fruit. The reason I think they most likely made this decision was because of the issue of childhood obesity that has consumed America. We as students eat what is offered at school most of the time and now that is effecting our kids with unhealthy lunches.

US:In the article "Cain leaves the door open to media" the former GOP presidential candidate speaks of how even though he suspended from the campaign on saturday, his voice will still be heard. It was rumored that Cain was running simply for the media and fame due to his interest in spreading his word through media. He clears that up by stating that he does not want to be published or have a tv show. He just wants to get his word out there, not for the fame. He claims he wants to get his word out there for the guidance and help of America. I believe his is full of it and he wants to just be in the light of the media to be honest. I just sensed it by the excuses he used, like "i don't want another book deal." i feel like he was making it apparent that he already had one, and he's just trying to up his political and media status which is quite obviously working by the looks of this article.
AZ:In the article "Arizona could be 'up for grabs'" McCain talks about how he won Arizona in 2008 by a small percent. He speaks of how the hispanic vote will lower his chances.

When I saw the article "Obama's war on religion" it immediately caught my attention, I was expecting to read an article of how Obama was against christianity or something regarding the religious believes in middle east, but sadly the article was regarding how Rick Perry thought that Obama was having a supposed "war on religion". Perry states that obama cant even hold a christmas party and insinuates that Obama is not a christian. These are ignorant insinuations on Perry's behalf. President Obama and his family are christians and even though he might not have a christmas party there are multiple christmas trees in the white house. Also, Obama makes christian remarks on his christmas speech.

The national debt ceiling has been raised again. I don't understand how we can keep doing that. All it's going to do is force us to spend money that we don't have and borrow more money that we can't pay back. We need to pull all our troops out of Iraq and start working on a way to solve the problems in the homeland.

House Republicans to offer payroll tax planparty leaders and Obama must work out a compromise by the end of the year, when the payroll tax cut is set to expire, or face the wrath of Americans facing higher taxes in the election year of 2012.

Az Sheriff Joe Arpaio is said to be ignoring over 400 rape cases in maricopa county and then says he will be running for a sixth term at 80 years old. he thinks he will win. i think this is wrong for him to do that, there are people to.

Robert Levinson, a retired FBI agent who was captured % years ago in Iran. He posted a video friday about what is going on. He says he is doing well but is running out of his medication that he needs. he also talks about us helping the groups request who has helped him for the past 3 and half years. He also asks for help, They think he is held somewhere in east Asia.

i think it is ridiculous how we aren't trying our hardest to get the former FBI agent back. All we are doing is just waiting for him to send videos and such.

In Arizona an old man and his grandson were hit in a hit and run on their way to school. they suffered minor injuries, but the man driving the car got out spoke briefly to the victims and took off. The police are trying to find out who he is but have had no luck, even though it was on camera.

I think it is sick how someone could injure someone then try and flee with out even seeing if they are okay. I think the man if caught should be in a lot of trouble for fleeing the scene.

Arizonas employment rate has not improved,, we have had some hard economic times and drastic times call for drastic measures.,, but many people have become violent this holiday season with buying gifts or stealing gifts. for example, not only did a woman pepper spay people, but she was not charged in any crime. it is just crazy. we are all americans, we should all have some dignity and respect for ourselves and not greed and hatred.!!

Hiliary Clinton spoke at the united nations on LGBTQ rights. She supports gay rights around the world. we have rights, and a right that we have is to be LGBTQ in our nation, she expressed that very well.
we should not treat others with hatred or hate crimes,, we should all be upstanding citizens,, and it looks horrible on our part to take part in crimes against a persons race, sex, disablity, gender, or interest in love

According to the Gallup poll released Friday, 76% of registered voters say that congress deserves to lose their jobs. Even though this number is so high, no individual party wants their congress member voted out. The re-elections of 2010 had a huge impact with the turnover of 63 seats from democratic to republican members.

I agree that all congress members should lose their jobs. The are all becoming more and more ignorant to the U.S.'s international problems. Don't get me wrong, we could change people tomorrow, but that doesn't mean that the problems are just going to disappear. Although, I do believe that if we are to replace the entire congress, we would have a much better shot at it. The new members would bring their views that they have built up and share them to possibly find one ultimate fixation.

i read about Robert Leivnson! he's the guy that went missing about five years ago in Iran, and now he's running low on diabetes medicine and the governments not doing anything to help him is what I'm understanding! He's a retired FBI agent and he's worked for the government for over 30 years, and they won't help him out.. i think it's crap, and they need to help cause he served for his country and it's the least they can do!

I guess some lady was pepper spraying people at Walmart on blacl firday, and it she's not even getting charged for it? i think it's pretty rediculous because she wasn't getting attacked and no one was hurting her so she deserves t get charged for EVERY single person she sprayed. just because it was black friday doesn't mean that's it's ok to go around and pepper spray people!

I honestly hate politics.. with a passion.. i do not care about them at all. i think obama and our government are a bunch of stupid hypocrites who don't know crap and think they're all bad and high because they're part of the government thats running this crappy country( presently). i don't even give a split second of my time to know, think about or listen to politics at all.. it's just how i am, i could care less about what happens in the world, especially in the political field. From what i see and know, they are all idiots who just talk and say crap to say it, its cheesy and stupid. As of right now the government has not been a part or effected my life in any big ways, therefor why should i listen to a bunch of blistering blabbering banshees. :]..there's my input.

US:House Republican leaders Thursday proceeded with plans to vote next week on a proposal to extend the payroll tax cut and unemployment benefits while waiting for approval the Keystone XL oil pipeline.
Arizona: Governor Jan Brewer today announced the State of Arizona has been awarded nearly $710,000 to use rooftop solar-energy installation. The funding, provided to the Governor's Office of Energy Policy, is part of the U.S. Department of Energy‟s Sun Shot Initiative.
I think that its good that the government is passing a payroll tax cut. I think that making more unemployed benefits are bad because that would maybe encourage people to say employed. In arizona news i think that using solar energy is really good because we have almost too much sun. It could also create more jobs for installation and repair.

4 Romanians hijacked over 150 credit card machines, which allowed them to steal millions of dollars. They hacked 80,000 different accounts. 3 of them have already been captured. The 4th is still at large. I think that this wouldn't have happened if there was a better security system on the credit card machines. They went to over 150 places and hacked into all of them, you would imagine that someone would notice them doing something like that.
A certain math class in phoenix is using math games to improve students skills in math. They say that it is a good way for student to prepare for high school. It says that students that aren't prepared by learning simple math equations that they will most likely do badly in higher leveled math classes. I think that it's good that something is being done for learning math. I always see people struggling in any math class.

US: Occupying wall street is the main political event that I have heard about through TV. So many people have taken the risk to try and prove that every single person has their own voice to things. I think it is great how they are practicing our first amendment. It shows that the government cant refuse us our first amendment.

AZ: Sheriff Joe Arpaio trying to be shoved out of office by defensive disputes against the immigrants. Other political leaders want him out of office because they say he is abusing his power. He is only proving that immigrants are a very serious. They are saying how he is racially profiling hispanics yet they shouldn't be over here anyways. They are doing illegal things in which will cause verbal disputes and physical actions that can' really be avoided. They just need to understand that we do not want them or their drugs in this country illegally at anytime. They have no common sense to try and take our jobs away and cause harm to many people.

Would Supporting Gar Marriage Help President Obama With His Reelection? This is an issue that people have been trying to address, or it has been slightly addressed. Prsident Obama is currently missing that card to help him get ahead of the competition. Obama is heading towards the direction of gay marriage but he doesnt want to make a bold decision because of one reason or another. Obama feels no threat of defeat in the election, the support of the community can prove to be a plus point for his party. I honestly think that if he agrees to gay marriages, he will have a large advantage over most of his competition. That doesnt mean that if he says yes, he has this election in the bag, but it puts him in a more comfortable spot.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Mishandles Sex Crime Cases- Sheriff Joe is a guy who really puts his foot down when it comes to the us mexico border. He is also known to be very tough on inmates. Many sex crimes such as child molestation have been reported to Sheriff Arpaoio and the crimes have been barely investigated, sometimes not even looked at. Suspects were known in all but 6 cases. That to me is ridiculous. You are the SHERIFF! Stop being Mr. Big guy on the border and in jail where no one can touch you and go out and do some actual police work. Children are being molested and this guy is sitting behind his desk and debating what the next vehicle for his border agents should be.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio sex cases neglect: People are accusing Sheriff Arpaio of neglecting sex crimes. it is stated that they were mishandled in 2005-2007. They are trying to get him to step down. When honestly Sheriff Arpaio has helped Arizona's crime rate. He has done a great job as Sheriff and i hope he continues.

Republicans are accusing Obama was involved in an appeasement foreign policy. He is denying it. Obama said the death of bin Laden proves that his foreign policy is not a timid one. Republicans have been criticizing him for a week. They believe his policy is week. I think that Republicans should stop wasting their time sitting around and taking turns criticizing Obama. Just sitting there and complaining isn't going to change that fact that Obama is president and that he made a "bad" decision when he made his foreign policy.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been trying to hunt down President Obama's birth certificate to prove that he isn't eligibile for the 2012 election. The document presented at the white house on April 27th isn't "authentic".Arpaio said that he believes it is in his jurisdiction and that he can have a more appropriate Arizona agency examine it. He strongly believes Obama's name can no go on the 2012 election ballet. He had a meeting with the Arizona tea party committee to prove his point. I think Sheriff joe Arpaio just doesn't like Obama as president and he doesn't want him to have the another chance to be elected. He should have faith that if Obama isn't what's good for this country then people won't vote for him.

In the U.S. a recent bill was passed, called the National Defense Authorization Act. It is an act saying that any person of the military force will be able to take to trial a person who looks like a terrorist or "acts" like one on American soil. Even if the person is American and born here. The act takes away our Sixth Amendment, so they are taking away our rights. The person who is accused with be hold to trial until proven safe. I think that this bill should not be passed because there are going to be a lot of innocent people being accused of something they didn't do. The government is taking away our rights and our rights are the only thing we are supposed to ALWAYS have as people. People are going to be really mad about this, it should just not be passed.

Governor Jan Brewer's Social Security benefits to her son have been under investigation by the federal authorities for than a year. They are trying to figure out if about $75,000 was not correctly paid towards her son. The case was sent to federal prosecutors and they don't want to press any charges. The prosecutors are trying to get the money back through administrative procedures. I don't think that any of this is her fault. I think she did what she was supposed to do and somehow things went wrong.

On Wednesday a superior court judge ruled that the protesters rights do not extend to seizing and holding areas on which they sit. Law enforcement has been passing out fliers that they will son have to leave and restore the park back to original condition. I think that the city has no right to kick out the peaceful protesters, and if they want to sit out there and freeze all winter for what they believe is right, let them.

Hillary Clinton delivers a speech at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva. In her speech, she pointed out that the LGBT citizens should be respected by all. She made sure to reference to Obama by saying that the view of same-sex marriage is "evolving". Clinton believes that all people should be created equal. She spoke in front of 500 audience members that were invited there. I agree with what she said in her speech. They should be treated equally and fairly.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has been investigated about her part in the Social Security benefits for her son. The question is whether or not her son got benefits that weren't meant for him. Brewer has declined many interviews about this issue. I think that her son may have received unfair benefits.

Yesterday a car was stopped on the i17 with approximately $52,000 in drugs. The man and the passenger driving the vehicle were book in the Camp Verde Detention Center with a $150,000 bond. I think that this is good that the sheriffs and police are looking for people with cars that have crossed the border with drugs in them I think that this is good that they caught them but bad that this car with a large sum of drugs got across the border. That means that the cartel is getting smarter then the border patrol and know how to put drugs in a car, and hide it specifically from the border patrol. I have had a run in with the Border Patrol over Thanksgiving break. I was driving to Mexico and got down there fine but coming back I had a table with a cover over it and they told me that they wanted me to pull over to a bay to search my car. They took all of my luggage out, just to check the table that was covered. They said "We couldn't tell what it was" I had no problem with them searching my car because I had nothing to hide but its good they are looking for things like that people are hiding.

U.S~RU4B40 says that women/girls under the age of 17 can not go into a drugstore and purchase the Plan B pill, also known as "mourning after pill". And as a 16 year old, I think that its very ignorant for them to endorse this law because if you think about it millions of underage girls are sexually active and its not illegal for an underage girl to get an abortion so why would it be illegal to purchase the mourning after pill.

In Minnesota the state government has shut down. Folks looking for a little bit of relaxation at state parks are locked out. Travelers seeking a rest area operated by the state are out of luck. Some 22,000 state employees were laid off.
I think it's about time we get rid of some of those pesky government guys. We should really consider making our government smaller so issues can be settled easier.
An 11-year-old boy and the 20-year-old pregnant woman sustained life-threatening injuries in a three car pile-up near 91st Avenue and Thomas Road, Phoenix Fire Capt. Scott Walker said. A 41-year-old woman involved in the T-bone crash suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Minutes later, a 4-year-old boy was struck by a Ford Explorer in a Walmart shopping center parking lot near 89th Avenue and Thomas Road, according to fire and police officials. A nearby registered nurse preformed CPR on the breathless and pulse-less child until authorities arrived. According to police, the boy ran in front of the SUV while his mother was putting groceries away in her car. The 4-year-old later died of his injuries.

Chinese police have busted 2 rings of child trafficking after a 6 month investigation. Over 178 children have been rescued and over 608 'suspects' have been arrested over this bust. Ministry of public security Cai Lianchao emphasized a 'zero tolerance policy' over human trafficking caught under the ministry. The children were sent to orphanages where they will hopefully be reunited with their long-lost families. The premiere of China, wen jiabao, agreed that the government will contiue supporting the misnistry of public defence in its policy of busting human traffickers. Any human traffickers caught under the ministry of public security, China can expect much more harsh treatment in chinese law. amounting to : Death :D. In retrospect of such an event, applaud the chinese government for their human trafficking opposition. In this sphere of the world where human trafficking is more close to home, the chinese seem to get it right, which is much of what I couldn't say for the US. Its embarressing in the least we do not have federal agents that have such a HARD backbone or the bravery of collapsed stars to stare criminals in the face and make the criminals 'soil' themselves. I understand its a harsh law, but I believe if we had a law that really scared criminals, then we wouldnt need to worry about human trafficking.

"Obama endorses move to keep age restrictions on morning after pill" The plan is to keep the age restrictions on morning after pill if you're buying without a prescription. Women 17 years and older may buy the pill without prescription but 16 and younger must provide prescription. Obama stated this wasn't his choice but he does agree with it. He said" As the father of two daughters, I think it is important for us to make sure that we apply some common sense to various rules when it comes to over-the-counter medicine" At first I didn't agree with this but as I read through the article I began to realize that this is a great idea. Maybe it will enforce some common sense and morals into girls. If you can't have access to the pill without going to the doctor and for most girls that means going with a parent and you don't want your parent to find out maybe that will click in the heads of most young girls before they do things that have bad consequences in the long run.

Arizona Gov.
Sheriff Arpaio and his office in EL Mirage failed to investigate 432 cases of sexual abuse in 2007. Now the cases have been re-opened and only 19 arrests have been made but if the cases had been investigated when they were suppose to be more arrest would've been made. Arpaio said that "If there are any victims, I apologize to those victims." Others believe that an apology isnt good enough. Of the 428 reopened investigations that have been completed, 116 were deemed to have no basis in fact to move forward or had accounts that didn't add up. "More than 220 were turned down by prosecutors or didn't have enough evidence to bring to prosecutors."
I think this is ridiculous. He needs say more than just im sorry.. (idiot)

I was reading about the inmates in Arizona that were denied health care. Even for severe and life threatening conditions. This is violating state laws and the constitution. Corrections officials say they have found no evidence of systemic problems. These issues are not new. In January 2009,more than one in four health-care positions was vacant, and the waiting time for outside medical care averaged 11 weeks. I think that is really cruel and unfair. Just because they are in prison doesn't mean they aren't human.

CONGRESS: THE GRINCH THAT STOLE CHRISTMAS-
Obama is not allowing congress people to take their holiday leave because they have not come to an agreement on their payroll. And if congress does not pass the extension then every family in America that is Middle Class will have to pay $1000 more on their taxes. So even though Christmas is right around the corner they will not go home for the vacation. They will wait until they figure out this problem because they do not want to charge everyone an extra $1000 bucks a year.

The House of Republicans are trying to offer a payroll tax plan, but the Senate was not having it. They blocked competing Republican and Democrate proposals because both of the parties failed to get the 60 necessary votes needed. It turns out that the Democratic proposal had a surtax on income over 1 million dollars to help pay for the lower payroll taxing rate. My opinion on this woud have to be that the Republicans are just trying to make a plan for people so that they do not have to pay as much taxes, which is not bad. Although, i do not agree tat its only the big companies getting the payroll tax cuts and not the middle class.
My second article is about how the Supreme Court looked at the immigration law on Friday. It says that Obama's administration has challenged this since it has passed. They were discussing if they should or should not take up the case. Arizona has argued that the federal government was not doing its part in controlling immigration. Although Arizona is trying to get along and work with the federal government they say that it is difficult and people are saying that the states are going way to far. My opinion in this is that the Immigration law is a huge deal, and should not be left alone. Putting the blame on each other will not get us anywhere, so we need to learn to put that aside and actually take up an action on getting this law looked at.

The Rod Blagojevich who once challenged a prosecutor to face him like a man, the glad-handing politician who took to celebrity TV shows to profess his innocence, was nowhere to be found Wednesday as he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for corruption. His June convictions on charges that included attempting to sell President Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat. "I caused it all. I'm not blaming anybody," Blagojevich said, trying with uncharacteristic humility to avert severe punishment. Blagojevich slumped forward in his chair -- momentarily frozen as the judge pronounced the sentence. Moments later, his wife, Patti, fell into his arms; when he pulled back from their embrace, he brushed tears from her cheek. I think this was very stupid of Blagojevich. Did he even think before he tryed to td this horrible thing? Did he know he was probably going to get caught and there will be huge consequences? Why did he try to give away the president's U.S Senate seat, and who was he going to give it to? I don't no why he did such a stupid thing that day.

-I dont know why everyone freaks out when the president messes something up, if you think about it, the financial situation sucks but is very slowly getting better. at least its not worse

The article I chose to blog about is the Penn State Scandal. The scandal is about A former Penn State coach, Jerry Sandusky, is being accused of sexually assaulting kids ten and under. On November 5, Sandusky was arrested. Currently he has 40 counts against him. He will remain detained until trail.
This scandal disgust me. He is a creep and deserves to get the maximum punishment.
The article I chose to write about for AZ politics was a drug bust that happened on 10/31. It was tied to the cartel. Over 70 people were arrested. The DEA seized two tons of weed, 19 weapons, and 200,000 dollars. Authorities estimate that this part of the cartel has smuggled 3.3 million pounds of marijuana, 20,000 pounds of cocaine and 10,000 pounds of heroin into the United States.
This disgusts me but I also think it is the governments fault that this stuff happen. Not saying I support people who use drugs but if these drugs weren't illegal then they wouldn't have any need to smuggle it over we would have it. The people using these drugs are going to use them regardless if they are legal or not. Because they are illegal we are wasting money to keep people in jail and trying to find them.

The current event from the Arizona government that I chose revolves around Jan Brewer. Jan Brewer is currently under investigation because about $75,000 in Social Security benefits were improperly paid to her based on her son's status. Her son was admitted into a mental hospital after claiming insanity when he was charged with raping and kidnapping a woman. Because Brewer's son had a change in social status, she was suppose to sign a paper stating these changes. Because she failed to sign the papers, she is now being accused of fraudulently collecting the Social Security benefits of her son. If found guilty, Brewer could be fined, imprisoned, or even both. I think that it's wrong that Brewer is saying that the investigation was a politically motivated attack on her family, for it seems like she is just trying to make excuses for her mistake. I also find it kind of weird that Brewer said that she was unclear of the Social Security rules. Being a governmental authority figure, she should be aware of what goes on and what the different rules are when dealing with Social Security benefits.

The United States government current event that I found involves the scandal behind Blagojevich, the Governor of Illinois. When President Obama became the President and left the Senate, Blagojevich tried to make a profit when he considered who to appoint to the President's past spot. After having a trial, he was eventually sentenced to 14 years in prison and had to pay a $20,000 fine. The judge had first sentenced about 15-20 years to prison, but Blagojevich's attorney reduced the amount of time to only 14 years. Blagojevich eventually apologized after the trial and said that he was really sorry. I think that Blagojevich was extremely wrong in trying to sell the seat in the Senate and that he should have tried to fix his mistakes earlier instead of exposing his image on shows like the Celebrity Apprentice. I also feel that what Blagojevich did makes more people question the government because "...people have the right to expect that their elected leaders will honor the oath they swear to." It definitely made me think about what other corruptions could be going on the government that I have no idea about.

AZ: In Chandler a Sheriff raided a Mexican food restaurant and found four employees with stolen IDs. The restaurant knew about the stolen identifications. It looks like; the restaurant even helped them to steal them. All four got arrested. One of them is also accused to be an illegal immigrant.
I'm sure that there are reasons to employ peoples and not really know everything about them. But if you know that their ID is wrong or even help them to steal it, than you are making yourself guilty.

US: Herman Cain isn't running for president anymore. He was really popular about a half a year ago, surprisingly. But then the headlines about him changed. They said he is having an affair. He was saying that it is not true. Herman Cain wanted to prove the opposite, but he couldn't. It was too much stress for him and his family so he refused to keep running for president.
I believe that they were just making those stories up, because they were afraid that he would get president and they wanted someone else. With those stories they got him exactly where they wanted him to be, not running for president anymore. I think that is just not fair!

United States government: Republican's want to extend the payroll tax cut and unemployment benefits, but due to not enough votes the Senate would not allow it. They included a surtax with one million dollars to help lower the payroll tax rate. Since it did not work out Obama has to agree to a compromise by the end of the year. If we he fails to make a compromise then Americans will have to deal with higher taxes in 2012. This will be a major campaign next year. I personally think that it is good for the republicans to try and improve the payroll tax. But since things are so bad with the economy i think it will be hard to find a solution.
