I would have to say that the most important world event during 2011 was all the turmoil in the Middle East. The people of the Middle East have risen up against tyranny before but this is truly the first time in modern history where the people have spoken, fought and won against powerful regimes.
National: There is so many things to choose from, but I am going to pick the death of Osama Bin Laden. The Navy Seals are such a force to be reckoned and so many people died due to Bin Laden rhetoric.
Local: I am picking the Federal governments indictment on Arpaio.
BEST Movie of 2011: By far, "Midnight in Paris" with Owen Wilson, written and directed by Woody Allen.
oh but wait, "Cowboys and Aliens" was pretty good too.

2011 was a very important year, what I found the most interesting was the fact that many of the world's dictators and evil leaders had died this year alone. Osama bin Laden's home was located by the U.S and they invaded his home and killed him. Then there was Muammar Gadaffi who was the dictator in Libya was shot after his home was seized. Then the most recent Kim Jong Ill dictator of North Korea had passed away, leaving his son to rule.
Local: SB 1070 was an immigration law in Arizona saying that officers could pull over anyone they suspected of being an illegal citizen and ask them for papers to prove that they were American citizen.
2011 was the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Also, towards the end of 2011, North Korean dictator Kim Jung Il died. In Arizona, SB1070, the immigration law was close to being passed, but it did not. The best movie was 2011 was Harry Potter.
Best movie of 2011: Hands down had to be part 2 of Deathly Hallows from the series Harry Potter. It was amazing but at the same time sad cause there goes my childhood.
1.) I think the most important national thing was Osama Bin Ladens death. The reason is because he was a huge terriost and a big threat and now we don't have to worry about it anymore.
2.) World is probably how bad the economy is. The economy is terrible and is effecting everyone around the world.
3.) Local would have to be the shooting of the congress woman Giffords. It put us all in shock and its insane how to survived.
4.) I don't think there was a best movie of 2011 they were all pretty good movies.

Local: The SB 1070 Immigration law was very important and effected and continues to affect many people in our state.
National: When Obama ended the war in Iraq.
1. The US soldier are beginning to come home. This is important because we are leaving a country that may not be able to control itself.
2. The fighting in the middle east. The fighting hasn't changed much and deaths are still happening.
3. Locally medical marijuana has begun to become a favored idea. This could effect our economy positively but effect our lives negatively
4. My favorite movie of 2011 is Green Lantern, but I didn't get to see as many movies as I would have liked.

1. I think one of the importan events is the protesting event that went on at wall street. Its one of the largest protest in US history. Its also been going on for months. It still continuses today.
2.I think one of the biggest events was the earthquake in japan. Its one of the biggest Japan has had. Also the earthquake distroed 2 power plans which releast raido activity in the air wich made it dangerous to live near there.
3. I think the biggest local event was the shooting in tuson. Its one of the most brutal shootings ive seen. its teribal all thouses people die. espeshly the 8 year old.
4. I think the best movie of 2011 was the final Harry Potter. The reason i think its so great is because it was the fianal movie to the series. its all over. Its was also prity amazing.
In my opinion, the most important world event happened in 2011 is the defeat of various dictatorships in north Africa, such as the ones in Libya, Tunisia, and, previously, the one in Egypt. This has been a very important for the African Continent to get to a new level of development.
The most important national event of 2011 is the death of Osama Bin Laden. I'm going to pick this, even if Al Quaeda hasn't been defeated yet, because this event brought a lot of tranquility to the American people, who were still shocked from 9/11, 10 years before.
Another important event, that really shocked Arizona, has been the indictment of the Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
I didn't watch a lot of movies during the past year: by far, the best 2011 movie I saw is probably the last episode of the Harry Potter saga.
The most important world event of 2011 was our war in Iraq and Afghanistan. After 10 years of fighting over there, we have finally started to pull our troops out (took long enough..). Al-Qaeda and Taliban have even decided to start peace talks (like anyone really believes that). Iran has started "nuclear power plants" although no one believes it has a truly peaceful purpose.
Our most interesting national event was the "Occupy..." movement. I truly dont understand what caused them to do it, however it truly was a peaceful thing and police did start taking people out against their will (theoretically against their constitutional rights and really actually unfair to them. Well, except when they were in the middle an intersection but that was an endangerment of safety)
Locally, it would be the profiling arrests by Arpaio. Many people feel they have been cheated and mistreated because they have been pulled over and put in jail just because of their look. I do agree that though some may really be illegal, im sure most of them are really legal immigrants and just being profiled. Its difficult to get out of that situation if you dont have any proof on you. Moral of the story? Keep some type of ID on you so that you can prove your innocence.

Many, some not so wonderful, events took place during the year of 2011. A world event that I thought was pretty drastic was that the European governments were having trouble with their currency losing value. An important event to our nation was that the war ended in Iraq and we pulled our troops out. Also, yet unfortunately, a congress woman named Giffords was shot in Arizona.
The best movie that came out in 2011, and a lot of people would agree with me, is the second part of the seventh Harry Potter series! Sadly it was the last Harry Potter we would ever see come out in theaters.
For World I think the most important event is when the oil leaked into the ocean. It set back a lot of seafood shipments and prevented people from swimming in the ocean.
The most important thing for National I think is the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Even today it still causes a lot of pain and suffering with family and friends.
For local the most important thing is the Tuscon shooting.Amazing how quickly a good event can turn to horrible

1. I think the most important national event of 2011 is the ending of the U.S occupation of Iraq. This means alot of people will get to see their family and friends again after a long time, This has been a long time coming.
2. I think in the area of world events the most important one is the earthquake crisis in japan. This had a major impact on everyone what with the nuclear power plant problems and all that devistation.
3. The only Local event I know about very is the tucson shooting some time back. This is a major event because people being shot in broad daylight outside a store is a big deal.
4. Well I don't really go out to the movies very often so I can;t really give an response to this. I did watch the last Harry Potter movie on dvd a while ago so uh I pick that one.

1. The biggest national event was the death of Osama Bin Laden. His death caused a ripple effect to the outcome of the war.
2. The most significant world event would have to be the struggles in the Middle East. This past year has been hard for them, but they showed that they could stand up and fight.
3. For local, the most important event in 2011 was the Tucson shooting. That day Representative Gabrielle Giffords was shoot and it had a huge impact on our state.

Well, coincidentally your top choices coincide with mine. The middle eastern fallout is of global importance because it could mean added possibility of U.S/NATO forces having to intervene within the unsettled regions in order to prevent the nation from falling into the hands of a more tyrannical form of government or simply anarchy. As for national--the most influential event was the death of Bin Laden which even if it did not effect Al-Queda strategically; it left an important rippling effect that made it known the U.S will not stop until it achieves its objective. Locally, the accusations against Arpaio are of importance due to the fact that it could change the scheme in which AZ approaches illegal immigration among other states. For my favorite movie of 2011 i'd have to say...well... none.
I think the most interesting world event of 2011 was the death of Gaddafi. Not the fact that he died, but how he put his people in poverty for his own benefit. Gaddafi's greed can truly be seen through is "Golden Glock." Not because the gun was made of gold, but how that gold gun could have been coined and use that money to help his people out of poverty!
I would have to say that the most important world event during 2011. Was the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. That was one of the worst earthquake in japan had a lot of live died in this earthquake.
National: It wood be the casey anthony case. This was one of the sad case. that was sad for the baby.
Local: It wood have to be the dust storm that happend in AZ. That was one of the worst dust storm. The dust storm got closer and closer then when you were in side you code not see anything.

Best movie: Fuer mich war der beste Film 2011 "Happy New Year". Mich hat der Film sehr beruehert, da ich das erstemal Silveser in einem anderen Land gefeiert habe.

best movie of 2011: in my point of view i would say i couldn't say too many good movies
World: I think the most important one is that Gaddafi has been killed. There was a lot going on in North America and most of them are caused by Gaddafi and with his dead they were over.
National: Steve Jobs dead was a big loss. He was a big man and affected a lot of peoples life. He made Mac popular again.
Local: I believe that the imigration law was really important. It's affecting a lot of peoples and it's imortant too.
Best Movie: I really liked "The Help". It was for me the best movie I've watched over here.
1. National: I think something big that happened in the year 2011 was the SB-1070. Another one was the oil spill into the Gulf.

Best Movie=I would say "The Adventures of Tintin". It came out a few weeks ago. I think the movie became famous.
National: All troops get sent home. I think that this is the most important event that I had written down on my paper. All soldiers get sent back home to their family's and loved ones.
Local: Giffords gets shot in the head. I thought this was the most important one in this category, Jared longer was the shooter, all because he hated the government.
World: Steve jobs death was the most important one to me. He was not only CEO of Apple but an extraordinary business man, and a genius in his marketing.
Pop Culture: I personally think that none of these are important, but if I had to choose I would choose the MW3 release. Millions of people just waiting outside in long lines that were just waiting for the release to buy the game.

Best Movie of 2011 that I can remember would have to be "Rise of the Planet of the Apes". That movie was amazing. The movie I really wanted to see though was "Sherlock Holmes" I loved his first movie and cant wait to see the second.

Favorite movie of 2011- Cowboy and aliens
World- The death of Osama Bin Laden. Bin Laden's acts caused so many deaths. Finally there is some piece of mind after all the devastation he has caused.
National- Even though the law was created in Arizona, SB1070 has managed to cause controversy throughout America. Many states were saying that the law was unconstitutional.
Local: The Tucson shooting that killed innocent people. Congress woman Giffords was shot in the head but survived. and through out the year people have been watching her remarkable recovery.
Best Movie of 2011- Warrior i have to say was by far the best movie released in 2011. Its a story about the son of a former boxer returned home and was trained my his father to compete in Mixed Martial arts. Great movie!
National(Casey Anthony)-I think this was a very important event due to the fact it reflects upon America. This was a case where extreme amounts of evidence concluded her to be guilty yet she was not held responsible for the death of her young daughter. If anything, this is a message. We need to start cracking down more and bringing justice.
World(Osama Bin Laden)-This was an extremely joyous event for not only America but many places all over there world, to find that Bin Laden had been killed finally. He was the root of the 9/11 and finally justice was obtained.
Local(Gifford)-Senator Gifford was shot in the head while in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her recovery has been remarkable, yet this just shows that even the people in the highest places are vulnerable to our cold world.
Best Movie of 2011(twilight)- okay so we all know edward is hot, like extremely attractive. and that is why this was the best movie of 2011, no questions about it. thank you, come again.
World: US troops withdraw from war in Iraq, in late 2011, but still keeping soldiers in Afghanistan. Hopefully the beginning of the end of fighting in the middle east.
National: Economy still in recession and number of foreclosed homes still on the rise, while President Obama pushes American Jobs Act.
Local: Indictment on Arpaio, racial profiling and nit investigating sex crimes.
Best Movie: War Horse, came out right before the new year, its awesome
National: Ryan Dunn will be missed.
Local: Phoenix, once again, reached unnecessary temperatures.
World: The marriage in england.
Movie: Sherlock Holmes, it was funny and very un predictable, Crazy Stupid Love, it was ironicly funny and Whinnie the Pooh, they did a great job of re-creating a classic.
National: I believe the death of Osama Bin Laden was by far the most important national event. The many terrorist attacks and threats had been controlled by Bin Laden and his death will hopefully end these terrors. Also, the many hours spent by the Navy Seals had been payed off by capturing and killing Osama.
Local: The most important think to happen in Arizona was the passing of State Bill 1070. The passing of this bill led to a lot of controversy and hate towards Sheriff Joe Arpaio. This had taken away amendment 4 and 8, by giving the Sheriff the right to search and seizure.
World: The tsunami and earthquake had really effected the world by bring us closer to a unification. Many countries had come together to help Japen in the devastation.
Movie: I loved the movie Drive Angry. It was jam packed with action and adventure.
1: Jobs dying was really important to the world because he was one of the people that changed lives just by creating a phone. He has impacted the whole world with his creation and no one really knows if anyone else will be able to continue doing what he did.
2: Bin Ladens death was a huge deal for people around the world, but definitely for the US. We know don't have to worry about him harming our country or our soldiers. We don't have to worry about him making plans to ruin our country. He's gone and we are safe now, for the most part.
3:When Giffords got shot it was a big deal. Some random guy just thought it would be cool to go to the store and shoot the people there. I don't know what caused him to do it, but that's wrong. Luckily she is okay and will be running again.
4: My favorite movie of 2011 was NEVER SAY NEVER!! omg, it was seriously so good. I obviously like Justin Bieber and have more than Bieber Fever, but when I saw this movie it made me love him ever more. It just told his story on how he became famous and it's really cool! I talked to people that watched it and they didn't like him before but they came out of the movie liking him. I am so proud of him and everything he has done! He such a great person<3 :) I've been a Belieber for four years, and four years ago is when he was found. #Dedicated
the most important event for national in 2011 would have be occupy wall street, because they are trying to speak out for the 99%. the most important event for world would in 2011 would have to be the European debt crises, because it impacts more than just Europe it impacts most countries. the most important event in local news would have to be Jo arpiao getting inedited. the best movie for 2011 would have to be surelock homes 2.
I don't think that I am really in a position to decide which events from 2011 were more important than the others. I am only one person, who lives in one city in one state in one country. Many of the things that happened had no effect on my life, so they were not especially important to me, but I'm sure they would be to other people who were affected by them. And my perception of said events is only what I've been told by the media, which for all I know could be horribly inaccurate, and the opinions I develop on them are just the opinions of an ignorant, uncultured teenager.
World: BIN Laden was killed. This is important because we have been trying to find him for a while.

For the national category i would say the most important event was the death of Osama Bin Laden. His death was so important because it was rumored that with his death we prevented the continuation of plans of another terrorist attack on the U.S. on the 1oth anniversary of 9/11. I believe the most important event in the world was the royal wedding. I believe it was important because it's been such a very long time since there has been a royal wedding. The most important local event in my opinion was the drug bust. It was the largest drug bust in Arizona history. I think best movie of 2011 was Immortals. It was a fantastic movie loaded with action and drama. :)

This sheds a poor light on future american officers as more and more national news are read that spell out the racism, sexism, and exploitation of vulnerable persons that is repeatedly conducted by the very men and women we are expected to honor for dutiful, moral, and industrial service to our country and PEOPLE.
Local: election of Stanton as mayor of Phoenix. His argument stood close to making Phoenix more competitive and bringing more corporate noses to our door so as to improve employment opportunities among people like me. Thank you mayor stanton, aplaud, applaud, applaud.
Movie: Mission Impossible: Ghost protocol and Sherlock holmes: a game of shadows.

Last year was the 10th anniversity of 9/11. Emotionally, i was distraught by the whole event of 9/11, and it has still effected me to this day.
World:
I think that the death of Osama Bin Laden was probably the most important national event that has happened in the US. The fact that we have finally killed one of the biggest terrorist in the world is a big accomplishment on the Navy Seals.
Local:
I think that the most important event locally that has happened was the shootings in Tucson. Many events have happened not only politically, but also the family lives of those people killed have had to cope with their losses.
Best Movie of 2011:
The best movie of 2011 was Hugo, I saw that movie with my siblings, i was dreading seeing the movie in the first place, and i really didn't care for it, but once the movie started, i was fasinated and amazed with the plot, characters, setting and stories told.
Harry Potter was AMAZING!! Ever since i was a little kid, i read every book and i own every movie, so i loved seeing Harry Potter

Best Movie of 2011: Battle LA was a great movie, in my opinion.
I think the most important event Nationally was the death of Osama Bin Laden. I say this because he was a huge threat to our American Nation.

Movie! The best movie of 2011 has to be Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows, it was similar to the first only you need to pay more attention to the little details or else you'll be lost for the rest of the movie.
National: NBA players season has just begun on the first of the year. The entire league was on lockdown.

National: The most important event from 2011 nationally was the death of Osama Bin Laden. This is the most important event because it unified the country by the relief that the U.S. felt. He killed so many people, so it's a relief to know that he is gone.
World: The most important world events revolved around the Middle East countries revolting and gaining their independence. It was very important because these people are gaining their independence and are speaking up against the wrong doings. The Egyptian protests are an example of this, for they revolted and got what they wanted.
Local: The attempted assassination of congress woman Gabby Giffords is the most important event that occurred in Arizona. This event was so important because it showed devastation, yet also showed a tremendous amount of strength. Through all of the losses, Gabby Giffords showed the nation what it meant to be determined by coming back from a gunshot to the brain.
Best Movie: The best movie from 2011, in my opinion, was The Muppet Movie. I thought that this movie was the best because it was extremely funny and reminded me and my family of the old Muppet Show. I also really liked Sherlock Holmes 2 because I love the book series and the portrayal of Sherlock Holmes by Robert Downey Jr.
National: The most important event to me that happened in 2011 would be the war in Iraq. This war has impacted so many families and people across the nation.
Local: Something I feel was very important that occured locally in 2011, is that Gabriella Gifford got shot in the head and she survived. Although it took the life of a young girl.
World: The most important event that I feel impacted the world drastically was when Osama Bin Laden finally died. It was the end of a terrible man, and people doubted if he would ever be captured, and he finally was. This definitely impacted so many people in all different ways.
Best movie of 2011: In my opinion the best movie of 2011, would definitely have to be New Years Eve because it was funny, sad, romantic and entertaining all at the same time! There are so many different movies that I love but i would have to say that New Years Eve is the best!

1) National: The most important national issue is, in my eyes, was soldiers being pulled out of the middle east. It brings fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters home to their families.
2) World: Osama Bin Laden's death was one of the biggest if not the biggest event in 2011. Because of him, many died and now he paid for it.
3) Local: There was quite a few things that happened in the past year, and the representative that was shot in the head. I was very pleased thatshe was not killed but sad that the little girl lost her life.
4) Best Movie: There are too many big movies that i liked, mission impossible was relly good, and green lantern, thor, captain america, iron man 2, and many more.
1.) Many monumental events occurred Nationally, such as the Iraq war ending. This was a somewhat effect to the killing of Osama Binlanden, after that they started bring troops home and now thank goodness its over. 2.) The Royal Wedding was a big attraction around the World this year. People stayed up until 4 in the morning to watch the Wedding. The funny thing was, was the Americans were more excited for it then the actual English population. 3.) Taylor Swift came into Arizona and I got the opportunity to go to her concert. It was my very first concert and it was awesome!! 4.) The best movie of 2011 was... TRANSFORMERS 3. It was the best movie EVER and it got a lot of really good ravings, and it had hot men in it! I think that the war ending was the most important because many people gave there lives for our country and now no more have to.
