Today is the eighth anniversary of 9/11.
There are two sites I would like you to go to:

9/11 Pictures
9/11 Videos

While the video and pictures are very hard to watch/see, after viewing the sites.
1. Eight years ago you were very young, what do you remember about that day?
2. What is you reaction today after viewing the pictures and video.
3. What can the global community do to stop terrorism around the world?

I cant remember much from 9/11. I just remember turning on the t.v and every channel was a report about how the plane crashed into the twin towers. Looking at the photos and watching the videos just refreshes my memory of that day and reminds me how horrible it was that it affected so many americans. In my opinion the only thing we could do to stop terrorism is increase security in places like airports.

During 9-11-01 I was in school, the teacher told us there was a terrorist attack and we watched the rest on the TV. I don't think we can really stop terrorism because everyone has a different opinion.

All that i really remember from 9/11 is my mom crying and going crazy because she thought my grandma was on one of the planes. It reminds me of the scare of 9/11. It was scary and it made people open there eyes and understand what can happen. There isnt much we can do. Maybe just understand more that it can happen.

On 9-11 I was in second grade. we stopped what we were doing and turn the tv on. We watched it all happen. I want to know how people were laughing at it. It was a really sad day. We all can try to be friends with each other no matter what race you are.

Eight years ago, when the first plane hit, I was in the car with my mom, brother, and sister, on the way to our babysitters house because it was too early to drop us off at school. My brother and sister didn't really know what happened, but Mom said that a plane had hit the towers in New York. I remember that most of my classes that day, we didn't really do anything, even in Art.
After seeing the buildings and the people, I'm shocked. When I was eight, I really didn't understand just how serious it was, but I know that so many people have died, nd lost family in the attack.
To be honest, I don't think we can completely stop terrorism. The fact that we're trying to stop it and are telling people "No" makes them want to do it.

I still remember what happened that day on 9/11. I t feels like it was just yesterday. My mom was doing my hair while she was doing that she was watching the news. when a special report comes up says that 2 planes had crashed into the twin towers. I didn't understand much because well I was only in 3rd grade later that day by teacher had explaied to the whole class of what had happened. I just cant get to the fact that its beens 8 years since this act happened.I don't what we could do mabey we could make peace with them.

I remember I was about to leave for school on 9/11 and I was excited because it was a half day. My mom was watching as the attacks happened in the morning.
The only way to stop terrorists attacks is to kill everyone, as long as two people or more are alive differences will occur.

I was in third grade and when i woke up i was very excited because it was my birthday. I was about to leave for school when my mom told me to come and see what was on the news. Im glad there was a couch behind me cause i just fell right there, i couldn't believe what happened, i was totally devastated. My reaction after watching the videos and seeing the pictures is the same as when i was in third grade, it's really devastating.

All i remember from eight years ago is just every one saying that a plane hit the two towers and at first i didn't believe them and every one of my teacher had it on in the class room all day. My reaction to the videos were that i still cant believe that this event really happened. The only thing that i think the global community would be able to do to stop terrorism would be to i guess to just get along.

I remember coming home from school and my mom telling me to turn on the tv. i was surprised to see that almost every channel was talking about 2 planes crashing into 2 towers. i didn't know what was going on and so my mom had to explain to me that there was an attack and that many people were going to die. we cant really stop terrorism because not everyone has the same thought or opinion and no will agree on much. there could be more security on the planes because possibly something like this would not happen ever again because it was a really sad thing.

hcookkelley said...

1. I don't remember really anything!
2. This is just so devastating even after all of these years. I still can't imagine being there or anything.
3. We can come together and make peace with one another.

1. I remember I was in third grade at larkspur elementary and we watched on tv what was happening in new york at the time.

2. It's makes me feel sad and it makes you look at things differently.

3. I'm not sure, but one thing would be listening to each other when we need to be heard.

I do not remember a thing from that day, just after a while it just seams like it just happened. It is sad what happened years ago, and people are still mourning the people that died that day. Stop complaining about terrorists and do something about it, like stop being scared are scare the HELL out of them so they stop.

I remember that day of the tragedy. I had just waken up and getting ready for school. My parents were in the living room watching the news. They were stunned. I wasnt sure what was going on or the magnitude of this tragedy.

All I remember was my mom waking me up saying mikey mikey something horrible happened. I had no idea what was going on I saw the words on T.V go "Twin Towers collapsed plane crash." And that was enough to tell me what happened. Those videos and pictures are just horrid. It made me want to cry and mourn for those who have died. Its just like why would someone want to do that to that many people? It is just horrible. I really have no idea what the WORLD can do to help things. All I know is that hate is where it all starts. Someone has a hatred for someone or a certain race and it just expands hate it ruins everything! :(

September 11th 2001 i was in the hospital with my mom and aunt waiting for my aunt to give birth. I was only in about 3rd or 4th grade i don't remember much about it but the nurses were crying and calling their families.

The only thing I remember about 9/11 in 2001, is that I woke up really early in the morning and my dad had me and my siblings watch it with him. I didn't understand it though. It was when I was in third grade, so the only thing I remember was that the Diamond Backs won the World series. Watching the videos reminded me of that day and how horrible it is. I don't like thinking about the families that have lost someone in 9/11. It's just horrible to think about. In my opinion, you can't stop Terrorism, unless you had plan watch, to see if there is a unidentified plane, then watch it or something. But you can't stop it. Increasing security at airports is just stupid.

I remember on that day, that morning someone called my house and told my mom to put on the news. After she turned it on, I really had no idea what was going on and I remember thinking that it was just a factory and that's why there was so much smoke coming out of the building. All of my family is from New York, so we immediately called everyone in our family to check if they were alright. That day at school all the teachers did their best to keep the class calm and under control. I don't think that there is any way to fully stop a terrorist attack on our country, but being at peace with more countries would definitely help. I think that watching videos now, looking back at that day, we realize just how bizarre it really was.

I barley remember 9/11. What I do remember is my teach got a phone call and then she turned on the T.V. and we didn't do anything for the rest of day we just watched the news. The videos show how scared everyone was and how terrible it was. I don't think we can completely stop terrorism but we can make the security better.

I was getting ready for school when my mom turned on the tv! it was very scary to watch even tho I did not understand what was going on. The pictures and the video's really explain a lot of emotion everyone had on that day of 9/11 and still years later. We have increased airport security and border a lot since that day. We all need to take part of helping the country fight ageist terrorism.

i remember 9/11 as if it were yesterday and i dont like it. 9/11 was and is a horrible day for all of America and its families. This is the reason why we have al that extra security in airports , its a matter of national security. and we all should remember 9/11.

Jared H. said...

I remember sitting in my third grade class watching the news, while the teacher just stared at the screen with a blank expression. I was too young to understand exactly how devastating 9/11 was, so it didn't make much of an impact on me.
My reaction to the videos now is the same reaction I have when I see pictures of murdered Sudanese people; a cold hatred for anyone that cruel.
There's no way to fully stop terrorism, just like there's no way to stop guns. Once we have knowledge of something it never leaves. If you could somehow dispose of every explosive device and gun on the planet it wouldn't make much of a difference because they'd just get made again by the people who want to use them. Terrorism will only stop when humans cease to exist.

On September 11th, 2001 I lived in a small town in Northern Arizona, where multiple towns had to go to one school. I remember being in fourth grade, and coming into class a few minutes late that day, only to see that my teacher was anxious and upset over something. So were a few of the other students. Almost as soon as I had taken my seat, our school principal announced over the loudspeaker that all teachers needed to turn on their televisions to the news station of their choice. I remember watching in horror and shock as the plane crashed into the twin towers, and threats were made on the pentagon, as well as other important buildings in America. Our teacher tried her hardest to explain to us exactly what was happening, and the possible reasons why. All I could really think about was whether or not my loved ones on that side of the US were safe. Watching the videos and seeing the pictures today brings back the memories of sadness, anxiety, and fear felt by myself as well as those around me. My mom decided to take me out of school soon after the attacks took place, for fear that our field trip to Phoenix would end in disaster. Although terrorism is a horrible occurance in the world today, I do not believe those types of attacks can really be prevented. As human beings, we all have our different opinions, and are fueled by different things. Unless we can change the mindset of those with a negative outlook, I do not believe they can ever be eliminated completely.

2.) I feel sick
3.) Thats a very good question and i think if there was some one thing that people could do we would be doing it.

1. When this all happened, I was at my friends house waiting to go to school. We walked outside to start walking to the bus, but the her mom called us back inside and told us we weren't going to school. At first we didn't understand as we were watching the news with her mom; but we knew something extremely bad was happening in New York. It was just a confusing and solemn day.

2. Watching these videos just really gives you an idea about what it was like to actually be there. The videos are so intense and I just can't imagine the fear that people must have been feeling.

i can remember september 11, 2001 very vaguely. i was in 3rd grade. i was in my class and we had just gotten back from lunch when just about the whole school turns on the news and the incident is already on the newws!!!! even though its been about 8 years, its still very devestating and emotional for some people.

The morning of 9/11 I was sitting on the couch with my mom, and the only thing I remember is watching the news and every single channel that we turned to had the footage of the plane crashing into the towers. The news played back the tape over and over again but I didn't really understand what was going on. But today when I looked back, and saw the video and pictures from that day, I realize how devastating this event truly was. Terrorism is impossible to stop, we cannot control others actions so there is not much that we can do.

3. nothing unfortunately its inevitable

i remember getting up and getting dressed when my dad called from work and told my mom. she told us (me and my brother tanner) what happened. we turned on the news and watched it untill we had to go to shcool. we watched the news in class too. the picturs and video made me very sad but also made me mad! it reminded me why my cousin is in iraq. the only thing the world can do to stop terrorism is to not be terorised and make the punishment so bad that they are afraid to do things like this!

I was a teacher at SMHS Sept. 11, 2001. We were in a meeting when someone urgently entered the room and turned on the t.v. so we could see what was happening. At first report, we all thought it was a horrible plane crash. We watched in sympathy and concern as we do for any breaking news story that effects lives in great numbers. When we found out that it was an act of terrorism, those feelings changed into fear and overwhelming
i s o l a t i o n.
The best thing individuals can do to stop terrorism is to educate themselves about the origins and history of terrorism, using credible research based resources and adopt a philosophy in life that peacefully honors and respects varied opinions and beliefs. This will not guarantee any of us protection from being victims, but can prevent us from perpetuating the hatred that drives terrorism.

Most people say they remember where they were when they heard about it, but i can not remember anything i never watched tv before school and my parents didnt either. I dont know when i heard about it, the only thing i remember about 9/11 is some memorial thing at my school i dont know if it was a year after or two but thats all i remember.
I didnt realize how serious it was and how people reacted that were there.
I think there will always be terroism in the world but we could try to get a good majority of the world population to get along with each other and concentrate on more serious things.

1. eight years ago the most i can remember is that me and my sister were being watched by a family friend and my parents were in lasvegas on a "buisness trip". and my aunt called before we went to school and told my sister to turn the tv on and then my parents called and were freaking out and we didnt end up going to school and it was jsut crazy.

2. i think alot of people are idiots after veiwing certain videos such as the dorm room video when they were screaming and ran out into the streets when they could have just stayed inside and been ok if you puit aside the emotion emotinally i would be messed up to but i would have common sense to stay inside.

3.the global community... to be honest i have no clue because we cant find the terrorists i mean the best we can do is prepare for it rather than stop it because how is there a way to stop it if you dont know where its coming from?...

1. The morning of 9/11 i remenber i was getting ready for school and my mom had the news on like always and we watched the whole thing unfold. she wasnt sure if my brother and i should even go to school.

2. After seeing the pictures and videos after some time has passed its realy sad to see the reactions so many people who simply couldnt believe what they were seeing.

3. The most we are realy able to do is be prepared. Im not sure there is much else we can do. we have done our best to track down those involved in this but now it is just a matter of being ready if something like this ever happens again.

I can't remember much about 9/11, but I do remember it was a girls birthday in our class and we were celebrating when our teacher turned on the television to watch the news. i thought it was all an accedent until the second plane. it was horrible.
in class we all sat in a circle watching the news about every 2 hours and would just all prayed together for the people hurt and killed.
seeing the pictures and videos makes me realize how horrible that day truly was.
Honestly i dont know what the community can do, there will always be conflict between countries, and there will always be one that takes it too far..

I can sadly say that i only remember being really confused on september eleventh. I was in third grade and the only thought that came to mind then was playing after school. After I veiew the pictures and especially the video i feel still very confused, only in a different way. I can not possibily see how somebody would want or be able to do that. The only thing we can do is try and settel our differences, but if somebody could ruin so many lives just like that who is saying that they wont go and do it again when we arn't looking?

1. Eight years ago on september 11 I was sick and was at home watching 3 tv news and the breaking story was that the twin towers have been attacked and are Falling down due to terrorism
2. Watching the videos and looking at the pictures I just feel sorry for every family that was affected and how many Americans are going to remember that day because in my opinion is the day that started WW3.
3. The one thing we can do to decrease terrorism is get a smart president that's does not make stupid decisions. And to take the soldiers out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

It still seems just as bad bout still to my surprise it does not spark much emotion form me. I think the global community could attempt a union of realistic bases such as a world leaders meeting or a population mass mixture?

i remeber that when 9/11 happened i got to school and everybody was talking about the airplane being grounding and all the teachers had a this bummed out additude that morning. i was walking threw some class room and i herd mpr playing. then i herd the bell ring but i wanted to listen to mpr so of corse i hid in the closet and listend to the wholw thing. my opinion on the matter is the thing was sad but the thing that still is bured in my memorie is watch the news and seeing the porple jump out of the towers.

Kaitlin Sikkema said...

1. I remember waking up and walking into the kitchen, and seeing my mom watching the attack on the towers on television. Since a lot of my family is from New York, my dad was on the phone with someone from my family. I remember going to school and my teacher trying to explain what had happened, although none of us could really grasp or comprehend the importance of it all.

2. I've viewed pictures and videos sine it happened, so I've come to understand the true horror of it all. But seeing videos and picture for a second, third, twentieth time, it still gets to me every single time.

3. We can always try for peace, but sometimes it's hard to make up stubborn & violent peoples' minds. I think we will just have to continue being extremely cautious, but looking at the big picture, people will do what they want if they feel strongly enough about it.

I think the most important right is freedom of religion. This allows people to believe on their beliefs. The least important is freedom of the press. This only spreads rumors of other unimportant things. A right that should be added is the right to a job. So everyone has money to spend helping out the economy.
